Happy Monday people! I’m sure you will agree with me when I say it’s definitely time for another article on Yoruba Traditional Wedding attires. This has to be the most popular feature on Wedding Feferity. Today I’m featuring 37 different Yoruba couples. Most of them of got married this year so you get to see what’s trending as well.
For some reason, there’s a lot of blue in this post, so if that’s your colour, you will be super pleased π . Don’t worry, there’s more than blue…gold, red, pink, orange, white and other pretty lace and aso oke colour combinations.
Don’t forget to look at our other past articles on yoruba wedding inspiration and our photo gallery for more lovely images. Two more posts coming this week (Wednesday and Friday ), so make sure you drop by again. Finally, here are the gorgeous images. Enjoy..x

That last mint green and coral combination is so beautiful. It’s one of those combos people probably avoid because they don’t know if it would turn out nicely, but this couple nailed it!
Next week Monday, I shall be writing an article on unique yoruba traditional wedding colour combos, for those looking for something different. Till then, you can check out the rest of the site, and let us know which of these images you love. See you next week, same place, same time for Yoruba wedding inspiration, and this Wednesday and Friday for other nigerian wedding inspiration.

Secondly for engagement, my fiancΓ© and i’s outfit in Yoruba attire would be white and red but dunno what color to make the Calabar outfit in yet?(second attire for his tribe) . Meanwhile the general color for the day is champagne gold but not sure what to mix it with? As well as the color for my asoebi and mum’s friends? bibiana says
Love all d concept. My weddin is comin up Aug. I intend. Usin royal blue n sliver. Wil it make sense?
Sayo C. says
Hi Motunrayo…..Unlike aso ebi colours, there really aren’t any hard and fast rules for the parents. Some opt for the old school aso oke which come in standard colours such as blue, ivory and white….others wear anything really. It’s up to them. Contrast between your colours and their will always be nice.
Sayo C. says
Hello Adedoyin, most people do wear the same colour ipele and gele, not because it is a rule per say, but because if you are wearing more than one colour, it tends to look better when there is contrast between the buba colour and the gele colour and the two colours reflect from head to toe. But some bride’s do look really lovely wearing same colour buba and gele. Check out this bride (different from your colours though) https://www.weddingfeferity.com/?attachment_id=7123. So feel free to wear it as you please as long you you feel confident and look great π
Sayo C. says
Hello Nike, You can wear the aso oke and gown for either the reception or Nikkah.
Sayo C. says
Hello Otun Kafayat. Gold and Peach does go, even with dark skin. Check out other Yoruba traditional wedding articles on the site. We may have a bride wearing those colours.
