Last week, I introduced the Wedding Feferity Wedding Dress Style Guide. I started off with explaining the different wedding dress shapes, and today I’ll be covering the different necklines you will come across while wedding dress shopping. There are so many options to choose from, but the most ideal neckline is that which complements your upper body by accentuating your best features and hiding your least favorite. You also have to make sure your it flatters your face.
Sweetheart Wedding Dress
This heart shaped neckline has two curves that drop and meet in the middle of the bust. This neckline helps to accentuate the bust and looks great on most brides.
Strapless Wedding Dress
The neckline lacks both sleeves and straps. It works very well for brides who choose to show off their shoulders and collarbone.
Halter neck Wedding Dress
This pretty popular style has straps that fasten at the back of the neck and a plunging V-front. Both the back and shoulders are left bare.
V-neck Wedding Dress
This neckline is just as you imagined, shaped like the letter V.
Asymmetrical Wedding Dress
More commonly known as the ‘One Shoulder’, this neckline appears different on either side of the dress. It has one strap coming across the front from either the left or right shoulder.
Off Shoulder Wedding Dress
This neckline sits below or just on the shoulders and highlights both the collarbone and shoulders.
Bateau / Boat Neck Wedding Dress
This is a wide-necked shape neckline that goes along the natural curve of your collarbone to the very tip of the shoulders. The front and rear of the dress usually have the same shape. It’s a great neckline for brides who want minimal exposure.
Scoop neck Wedding Dress
The U-shaped Neckline can be anything from modestly high to dangerously low. The style is a universally flattering classic that always looks elegant.
Square neck Wedding Dress
The neckline is square shaped and cut straight across the front.
Jewel neck Wedding Dress
The circular shaped neckline follows the curve line of the neck and sits at the base of the throat. It’s also known at the T-shirt neckline as it comes up quite high.
Cowl Neck Wedding Dress
The dress material draped in rounded folds characterizes this low hanging neckline.
High Collar Wedding Dress
The neckline covers the neck and will typically come with a sleeveless dress.
As you can see, some styles are better suited for some figures and body types. Even if you are 99% certain of which neckline will suit you best, it’s always a good idea to try on other styles, because a dress may look good in a photo or on a model, may end up being wrong for your figure, while something you aren’t too crazy may be ‘the one’ .
Having said that, speculating won’t hurt. Give me any dress with off shoulder hands and a sweetheart neckline, and I’ll be one super happy bride. Which is your favorite, or are your favourites?

Hi, I saw a dress on your instagram page worn by @missmayowa. Please, how can I get the embellished top she used on her dress? How much does it cost?
